We walked to a trail and this is a small local park that led us to a beautiful walk in the temperate rain forrest

A large tree came down across the trail and had been cut out of the way just a few days before we were there.
Temperate rain forest all along this northern coast. Lots of moss and the trees composting themselves as they die off and support the next generation.
Our last port in Alaska, Wrangell was also the most untouched by tourists.. We were the only ship in port as opposed to some of the others that were mostly t-shirt shops for up to 5 large cruise ships at a time.
